Lake Champlain Sunset from the Champlain Islands (Alburgh, VT)
This photo of another beautiful Lake Champlain sunset from the Champlain Islands was taken in Alburgh, VT. Alburgh is the northwestern most town in Vermont and the northernmost part of Vermont’s Grand Isle County.
Although it is considered part of the Lake Champlain Islands, Alburgh is actually on a mainland peninsula that extends south from Canada. It is only accessible to the rest of the United States by water. There are bridges connect Alburgh to Rouses Point, New York, the Vermont mainland in Swanton, Vermont, and two other Lake Champlain Island towns- Isle LaMotte, Vermont and North Hero, Vermont. All of Alburgh’s land connections are into Quebec, Canada.
