Beautiful Sunset on Lake Champlain
See on Scoop.it – Lake Champlain Life
This photo of the sun setting over peaceful Lake Champlain took place just two days before the Lake unleashed its fury on lakeshore residents. Almost everyone along the shore was enjoying boating and swimming; all of the docks were in place for summer fun.
Two days later, only one dock remained intact in the water; sections of docking were haphazardly tossed up on shore. Some docks were washed out and sank. Along our short stretch of lakefront: two neighbors lost their docks, one lost a jet-ski and two other docks were damaged. Nobody escaped untouched.
But on this day the weather was beautiful and the Lake calm… a perfect day.
Other Lake Champlain Photos:
This is a little different variation of the typical Lake Champlain sunset photo.
Here day fades into night over Lake Champlain and Rouses Point, New York.
About Rouses Point, New York:
Rouses Point is located along the western shore of Lake Champlain and the northeastern most village in New York State and is a natural gateway to Vermont, Canada, and all of New York State.
Whether simply relaxing in an Adirondack chair, fishing, boating, hiking, golfing or cycling Rouses Point offers memorable activities for everyone.
Other Lake Champlain Points of Interest:
This photo of another beautiful Lake Champlain sunset from the Champlain Islands was taken in Alburgh, VT. Alburgh is the northwestern most town in Vermont and the northernmost part of Vermont’s Grand Isle County.
Although it is considered part of the Lake Champlain Islands, Alburgh is actually on a mainland peninsula that extends south from Canada. It is only accessible to the rest of the United States by water. There are bridges connect Alburgh to Rouses Point, New York, the Vermont mainland in Swanton, Vermont, and two other Lake Champlain Island towns- Isle LaMotte, Vermont and North Hero, Vermont. All of Alburgh’s land connections are into Quebec, Canada.
