Plattsburgh loses suit over moorings law

A state court has ruled that the City of Plattsburgh’s law regulating boat moorings on Lake Champlain waters is invalid.

The decision is the result of a case brought against the city by Plattsburgh Boat Basin, which operates a marina next to the city’s brand new marina at the end of Dock Street.

“We don’t agree with this decision, but we will talk about it and decide if we want to appeal,” Mayor James Calnon said.
